At “Yumeyakata Oike Bettei,” a traditional Kyomachiya townhouse with over 100 years of history, and the Japanese-style room at “Yumeyakata Gojo Shop,” where you can enjoy both kimono rental and a tea ceremony in one stop, you can watch an authentic tea ceremony demonstration while listening to the instructor’s explanations. Afterward, you will experience how to bow, properly drink matcha, and whisk the tea yourself.

Operated by a traditional kimono store with a 160-year history, we offer a wide variety of kimono sizes, colors, and patterns. We carry sizes from 5S to 5L for men, and S to 4LW / 4TL for women, ensuring a comfortable fit for all body types.
Our shop is located along Gojo-dori, a wide six-lane street, making it easy for large buses to briefly stop for group drop-offs and pick-ups. It is a 3-minute walk from Gojo Station (Karasuma Line) and a 9-minute walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station (Keihan Line). There is also a bus stop right in front of our shop, providing incredibly easy access to Kyoto’s tourist destinations.
Yumeyakata can accommodate kimono rentals and dressing for large groups ranging from 100 up to 500 people.
By staggering the arrival times of sightseeing buses, we can smoothly guide all types of large groups, including inbound tour groups, company trips, and incentive tours.

* Under the kimono: Please wear a deep-necked (U-neck or V-neck) undershirt, tank top, or camisole. In hot weather, you may choose not to wear an extra inner shirt.
* For cold weather: We highly recommend both men and women wear leggings or thermal underwear to stay warm when going outside during winter.
* Women’s kimono rental includes a special kimono undershirt, but men’s does not. For men, please wear a deep V-neck shirt or a tank top if you prefer to have a layer underneath.
* Women’s yukata rental includes an undershirt, but men’s does not. Light-colored yukatas can be slightly transparent, so we recommend wearing light-colored underwear if you choose a lighter yukata.

– The estimated dressing time for the whole group is about 40 minutes for up to 40 people, 1 hour for 80 people, 1 hour 15 minutes for 120 people, and 1 hour 30 minutes for 150 people.
– Please specify your preferred dressing start time according to your schedule for the day.
– Yukata will be provided in summer. In winter, men will receive a haori jacket and women will receive a shawl.
– We also offer free hair ornaments for female customers.
– Hair ornaments add an elegant touch to the kimono style and are highly popular among students.
– * Please note that from late May to late September, we primarily offer yukata rentals.
There are three return methods as shown below. Please decide in advance and let us know. 1. Same-day Return: Please return the items by 5:00 PM.
2. Next-day Return: Please return the items by 5:00 PM the following day (Free next-day return).
3. Next-day Hotel Pickup: We will pick up the items in the evening of the following day. Please confirm with your accommodation if they can hold the items for you.

* We can also select the kimono colors and patterns for you, attach name tags to the sets, and distribute them.
In this case, we recommend distributing them the day before. It is possible to distribute them on the morning of the dressing day, but it will take extra time in addition to the actual dressing time. If your schedule is tight, we strongly recommend distributing them by the day before.
