Spring Flowers

The other day, I took a walk and paid a visit to Shinnyo-doh (真如堂）and Konkai komyo-ji temple (金戒光明寺). On the premises, the Shanshu (さんしゅ, Cornus officinalis or Japanese cornelian cherry) tree was blooming and announcing the arrival of spring to us. It is not as gorgeous as plum or cherry blossoms, but still very pretty. ・・・

Flowers at Historical Sites

Spring in Kyoto becomes even more attractive with many kinds of flowers. Everybody starts to speak about Ohanami (お花見, cherry blossom viewing). It is truly a nice season. Osawa-no Ike Pond in Spring Colors

Jinchoge Flowers

It’s already spring here in Kyoto. In Japan, the scent of Jinchoge (沈丁花, Winter daphne) flower announces the arrival of spring, and it boosts everybody’s energy.
