Access from Yumeyakata to Daigoji Temple

Starting from Gojo Station on the Karasuma Line, the nearest station to Yumeyakata, transfer to the Tozai Line at Karasuma Oike Station and get off at Daigo Station. Daigo-ji Temple is a 13-minute walk from the station.

Area: Niomon Gate and approach to the temple

The illuminated Niomon Gate and the silently standing Kongo Rikishi statues.
As you pass through the gate, lanterns guiding the way welcome visitors.

A projection mapping show featuring traditional patterns and elements that evoke the history of Daigoji Temple unfolds against the backdrop of the national treasure “Kondo” (main hall). Combined with the illumination of cherry blossoms in full bloom, it offers a special experience that can only be enjoyed here.

The illuminated Bentendo temple and cherry blossoms are reflected in Benten Pond.
You can spend a moment surrendering your mind to the beauty of the changing seasons while gazing at the light and scenery shimmering on the water’s surface.

National Treasure “Five-storied Pagoda”

In front of the national treasure “Five-Storied Pagoda,” a special tea ceremony space has been set up, fusing the standing style of tea ceremony with art technology by NAKED Inc. Surrounded
by cherry blossoms, you can leisurely enjoy tea and sweets while experiencing the movements and lighting effects up close.

Using stone-ground Uji matcha from Fukujuen, a performance unfolds where digital art unfolds in sync with traditional tea ceremony movements. There
are general seats where you can easily experience the tea ceremony, and special seats (limited number) where you can view the performance up close. There are also souvenirs only available for those in the special seats! Enjoy tea and sweets in a space surrounded by cherry blossoms while feeling the light expressions that respond to the movements of the tea ceremony up close.

This limited-edition goshuin (temple stamp) was created as a collaboration for this event. It features a special design of cherry blossoms dancing at night. You can get this collaboration goshuin, adorned with the key visual, at a special corner in front of the Kannon Hall, only during the event period!

Traditional Crafts Workshop

A traditional Japanese candle-making workshop. Experience the spirit of craftsmanship passed down in Kyoto, a cultural experience that goes beyond mere observation, but involves active participation.

Cherry blossom blooming status at Daigoji Temple

As of March 30th, the weeping cherry trees at Daigo-ji Temple are in full bloom.
There are approximately 700 cherry trees on the temple grounds, and in addition to weeping cherry trees, there are also Somei Yoshino cherry trees, mountain cherry trees, and Hakusan temari trees!

To rent a kimono until evening…

If you return the kimono on the same day, you must be back at Yumeyakata by 5:30 PM, which means you won’t be able to enjoy the evening projection mapping and illuminations.
If you choose next-day return or courier return, you can stroll around in your kimono until evening without being restricted by time.

Delivery return

This return method requires you to ship all returned items to a Yamato Transport office or a participating convenience store on the day of your visit or the following day.
You can return the items at a convenience store or hotel front desk, so there is no need to return to the store.
The fee is 1,430 yen for visits before 12:00 PM and 880 yen for visits after 12:00 PM.

We offer a wide variety of kimonos, including lace kimonos, designer kimonos, and original Yumekan kimonos, all at a flat rate. Our selection
ranges from cute colors and patterns to chic and sophisticated adult designs, making them suitable for couples, families, and groups of all ages.
We carry a wide range of sizes, from children’s sizes to larger sizes, so anyone, regardless of body type, can find a kimono they can wear comfortably.

Also, even if you book the standard plan, you can change to another plan or upgrade on the day of your visit.
In addition, for an extra 1650 yen on the day, you can enjoy unlimited use of popular optional items such as pearls, lace, and tulle !
